My littles have been begging me for a beach trip lately!
Jellyfish, sharks, waves, and whales - it's all they can talk about! I've gotta admit, I could definitely use some sun and sand myself, but as a working mama with five kiddos, these kinds of trips take time to plan. In the meantime, I decided to whip up some under-the-sea themed crafts to tide (ha!) them over. Here are some of my favorites! As always, I would suggest using FolkArt Multi-Surface Acrylic Paint and Home Decor Chalk for anything in need of color. AND I have a new favorite crafting buddy: the Mod Podge Melter.
It's a new-and-improved glue gun and works wonders on absolutely any project under the sea!
A simply FINtastic way to recycle egg cartons! And because each fishie only requires two egg cups to make, you can create an entire school of fish with just one carton.
Alpha Mom (a wonderful friend of ours) has an entire line of under-the-sea cardboard costumes, but being a Beatles fan, this one was of course my favorite :) My husband is going to get such a kick seeing our sons wearing yellow submarines! If only there was a walrus...
This one basically allows you to recreate an entire ocean with just a few clothes pins and some cardboard scraps. The printable templates are already provided for you, so all you have to do is bring it all to life with a bit of paint!
Such a cool interactive craft - and SO much easier than a real aquarium! Kids will have a blast creating their own underwater ecosystems and using thread and buttons to make the fish dance along the walls. I can already see this being a permanent fixture in our home.
