First Look: CHA 2016 Booth and New Products!

The 2016 Craft and Hobby Association Mega Show is a special one for us - this year marks Plaid's 40th Anniversary of bringing you creative ideas made easy with innovative products alongside inspiration and education! We'll be posting stories, memories and fun all year long with you to celebrate this milestone, but first, join us for an exclusive look inside our booth and new products for 2016!

Launching in May 2016, Milk Paint & Finishing Oils join the FolkArt family of brands! This casein-based paint’s premixed and ready-to-use formula makes it effortless to achieve a farmhouse chic look. The formula brushes like a stain, but looks like a paint and dries to a dead flat finish.

Our design team created gorgeous pieces using our DIY Inspiration: Hot for 2016 Trends announced at the show - we adore this modern rustic vignette!

Around the office we're smitten with this next product, and we can't wait to share it with you! FolkArt Ultra Dye is bold brush-on color formulated to dye natural fibers and wood with vibrant hues! Create stenciled, color-blocked or ombre effects with saturated, vivid color. The unique formula is self sealing and won't bleed, peel or rub off! Available May 2016.

Our next vignette shows just a few ideas of how to use FolkArt Ultra Dye - we love the idea of a bold rug to add a pop of color to any room!

Our next innovation is FolkArt Painted Finishes to create natural, organic look throughout your home! Use Rust, Concrete and Moss finishes on wood, metal, plastic and terra cotta, and Barnwood adds an aged, worn look to wood!

This piece shows the amazing effects you get with Painted Finishes!

Our FolkArt Home Decor stencils range from modern to traditional and whimsical to elegant. They’re an easy way to add personality and interest to any project! We love the look of these FolkArt Home Decor Chalk stenciled DIYs!

FolkArt Home Decor Chalk makes it easy to get different finishes - just a few examples we're showing in our booth of the looks you can create:

And finally from our FolkArt line, this stunning Mixed Media wall art introduces new paints, sprays and tools, available in August 2016. We adore this layered art piece!

Mod Podge Photo Transfer is as popular as ever, and this woodland themed vignette captures just how impactful a photo transfer project can be, don't you think?

Coolest curiosities cabinet ever, featuring Mod Podge! Our design team used different Mod Podge formulas to create different effects on all of these pieces - notice the 'plaid' antlers in the lower right-hand corner!

This boho chic display is the perfect way to show what Fabric Creations can do - our Soft Fabric Ink is 'dreamy' on its own and even more versatile when paired with Block Printing Stamps!

Martha Stewart Crafts continues to lead the way in color trends and style - these projects show the wide range of products available from the brand.

This is a party we want to go to - we especially adore the personalized wine glasses using Glass Etching!

From our Bucilla brand, we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with artist and illustrator Aimee Ray to bring to you Paper Stitching! Her whimsical style takes inspiration from nature and dreamy fantasies, and these new stitchable paper gift tags and note cards are perfect for crafters of any level.

Debuting Summer 2016, String Creations combine DIY string art and stitchable wooden blanks! Paint the wood or add extra flair with paint, and the pieces are sized to accommodate both floss and yarn.

Our Bucilla team also debuts sweet and on-trend Pillowcase Dresses! These sweet pieces are super easy to stitch and is sure to become a keepsake!
