Basic Painting Brush Set
Rub-on tool & stylus
Wood 3-drawer storage unit
Wood knobs
Alphabet stencil of choice
Foam plate or palette
Container for water
Paper towels
Masking / stencil tape
Fine grit sandpaper
White craft glue

Instructions

  1. Using fine grit sandpaper, sand surface smooth. Wipe away dust.
  2. Squeeze Wicker White color onto palette. Load 3/4” Flat Brush by brushing into puddle of paint filling both sides of the brush.
  3. Apply paint to surface using long, smooth strokes. Reload brush as needed and continue basecoating. Allow to dry.
  4. When dry, sand smooth using fine grit sandpaper.
  5. Reapply basecoat and allow to thoroughly dry before using Rub-On Patterns.
  6. Painting a Plaid Pattern: Measure and mark with a pencil every 3/4”.
  7. Using masking or stencil tape, mask off every other mark.
  8. Load 3/4” Flat with Medium Yellow; paint between tape. Carefully remove tape and allow to dry.
  9. Repeat steps: measure, mark, tape and paint Medium Yellow stripes in opposite direction. Allow to dry.
  10. Measure 1/4" stripes 3/4" apart. Apply tape and paint Pink. Allow to dry.
  11. Repeat steps: measure, mark, tape and paint Pink stripes in opposite direction.
  12. Cut desired design elements from Rub-On Pattern sheet, using the project photo as your guide.
  13. Arrange elements on project surface dark side down and secure with tape.
  14. Using flat end of Rub-On Tool, rub along pattern lines using gentle pressure to transfer pattern directly onto project surface. If desired, transfer only main pattern lines. Paint basic design shapes and when dry, transfer detail lines.
  15. Load #10 Flat with Bright Baby Pink, basecoat flower petals.
  16. Basecoat flower center Medium Yellow using #10 Flat.
  17. Load #10 Flat with Floating Medium. Stroke one side of brush with Floating Medium into Pink; blend on palette. Shade flower petals Pink.
  18. Shade bottom of flower center in same manner loading #10 Flat with Floating Medium and Pure Orange.
  19. Load #8 Round with Wicker White. Wipe loaded brush on paper towel until almost dry. Paint dry brush highlights.
  20. Use Stylus to paint Wicker White, Medium Yellow, Tangerine and Pure Orange dots on flower center.
  21. Repeat these steps for each flower, using the photo as your guide for color selection.
  22. When project is complete, glue wood knobs to drawer fronts using white craft glue.
