What is the difference between foam mounted and wood mounted stamps?
Foam mounted stamps are rubber images on foam. They are primarily used in children's stamp sets and collections. They may get flexible with age and use. Wood mounted stamps are rubber images with foam backing that are mounted to molded hardwood handles. These stamps are more durable and, when used properly, stamp more evenly than a foam mounted stamp.
