Make any project a chalkboard with this clear topcoat finish.

Other Supplies
Kraft scrapbook paper
Holiday paper designs
Foam paintbrush

  1. Trim the papers to fit the top of the tray. We used the kraft paper in the center and two strips down each side.
  2. Apply Mod Podge Satin to the tray and back of the kraft paper. Position the kraft paper on the tray. Smooth with your fingers to remove any air bubbles. Wait 15 minutes. Top-coat with a layer of Mod Podge Satin. Repeat the same steps with additional papers. Allow to dry one hour.
  3. Apply one top-coat layer of Mod Podge Clear Chalkboard Topcoat and allow to dry for 1 hour. Apply a second coat and allow to dry for 24 hours.
  4. After 24 hours, run chalk over the surface and wipe clean. This will season the chalkboard.

PROJECT TIP: Make anything a chalkboard. If you have a tray you love and don't want to add the paper, then just add the two top-coats of Mod Podge Clear Chalkboard Topcoat and you will have a chalkboard.
