Other Supplies

Canvas tote bag, Wax paper, Paper, Pencil, Owl patch, Rhinestones, Heavy duty glue, Fabric-friendly stamp pad, Letter rubber stamps

Instructions

  1. Draw a tree shape onto a piece of paper.  Place the craft mat over the drawing.  Heat a milk glass (white) Mod Melt stick in a Mod Melter or high temp hot glue gun. Trace over the sketch and allow to cool.  Peel from the mat.
  2. Place a piece of wax paper in between the layers of the tote bag. Position the Mod Melt tree onto the tote bag.  Dip a damp sea sponge into the Fabric Creations and tap off the excess. Working directly above the tree, dab the ink around the tree and onto the bag. Swirl the ink heavier in some parts and lighter in other parts to create a soft look.
  3. Using Fabric Mod Podge, glue the owl patch to the tree. Allow to dry.
  4. Heat a red Mod Melt stick in a Mod Melter (or high temp glue gun).  Squeeze into a Mod Mold.  (We used two Gerber daisies.) Allow to cool seven minutes and pop out.  Use Mod Podge to glue rhinestones to the center of the flowers and to the eyes of the owl. Using heavy duty glue attach the flowers to the owl.
  5. Using the stamp pad and stamps, add a favorite saying to the tote bag.

PROJECT TIP: Stencil it! Add a monogram to the bag with FolkArt stencils and paint.
