Other Supplies

Tacky craftglue, ¾”-1” Wide paintbrush, Ruler, Three 5” round paper doilies, 1 ½ yards of 1 ¼” wide flat lace, Paper towels, Wax paper, Scissors, Pencil, Tracing paper (or use pencil rubbed across back of pattern to transfer) Lettering pattern provided

Instructions

1. Remove inserts of frame.

2. Refer to photo for placement of lettering and transfer patterns below each frame opening.

3. Use glue to trace over lettering; let glue dry. (NOTE: Use consistent pressure and continuous thin line of glue to trace over word. Practice on scrap paper, if necessary, before applying glue to frame. For minor mistakes, a toothpick may be used to clean up lines of glue while wet).

4. Cut straight across doilies 1 ¾” from one rounded edge, this 1 ¾” section is used for frames. Refer to photo for placement and use ModPodge to attach doily piece to frame, aligning straight cut edge with top of frame opening.

5. Cut two 11” strips and four 7 ½’ lengths of lace. Use thick coat of ModPodge to attach to frames, with a lace strip centered and placed vertically at each side of frame opening with ends aligned with top and bottom edges of frame. (NOTE: It may be necessary to apply a top coat of ModPodge as well, to flatten out the lace and remove wrinkles) Let ModPodge dry.

6. Refer to photo for placement, and use glue to add dot accents to doily pattern and along sides of lace; let glue dry.

7. Use brush to apply White enamel over top and side surfaces of frame, working paint into lace texture; let dry. Repeat for second coat.

8. Working on one frame at a time, use brush to apply Silver enamel over frame surface. While wet, use a dampened paper towel to wipe off excess silver paint, working in a circular motion when wiping. Silver should work as a glaze and be left in indentions of doily and lace, as well as around glue areas. Let dry.
