Other Supplies

  • FolkArt Acrylic Paints (2-3 colors of your choice)
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Small paper cups
  • Disposable aluminum tray
  • Wooden craft sticks

Instructions

  1. Pour a small amount of FolkArt Acrylic paint into a paper cup. Add a splash of Mod Podge Ultra Gloss and stir with a craft stick until it is combined thoroughly. When you lift the stick from the cup, the paint mixture should make a steady stream between the stick and the cup, like syrup. If the mixture appears too thick, add another splash of Mod Podge Ultra. If the mixture appears too thin, add another squirt of acrylic paint. Continue this process for each color you plan to use on your marbled ceramic tile.
  2. In a new paper cup, pour each of your mixtures, one after the other.
  3. Place a small paper cup upside down inside of your aluminum tray and place the ceramic tile face up on top of the cup.
  4. Pour the cup with the paint mixtures slowly onto the ceramic tile. Holding the tile by the edges, tilt it gently until it is completely covered in paint. You can continue to tilt the tile, until you are pleased with the marble effect. Let dry.
  5. Continue this using as many colors and combinations as you like.
  6. When the tiles are dry, spray them with an even coat of Mod Podge Ultra Gloss to give them a smooth, glossy finish.
