Faux Bois Pillar Candles and Plate with Handmade Charlotte™ Stencils

• Candles,
• 12” candle plate,
• Burlap,
• Scissors,
• Jute,
• Foam brush,
• Stencil brushes ¼” – ½”
• Rubbing alcohol
• Paper towels
• Brush basin
• Foam plates
• Tape

Instructions

1. Wash candle plate with warm soap and water. Wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove any residue.
2. Turn plate over on a raised surface like a roll of tape or small bottle. Place burlap over back and start applying Mod Podge® heavily until entire back of plate is covered. Let dry overnight.
3. Trim excess burlap from edge of plate and turn face up.
4. Remove scrap from stencil elements. Apply leaves to front of plate with Thicket. When dry, apply stems with Burnt Umber. Use daubers to apply enamels paint.
5. Wrap tree bark design around candles. Tape to secure if needed. Apply Coffee Latte.
6. When dry, wrap jute around candles and knot. Trim excess tails.
