Instructions

1. Clean surface using soap and water; rinse well and allow to dry thoroughly. Moisten a lint-free cloth with white distilled vinegar; wipe exterior of washed metal ware to remove remaining dirt, grease, and soap residue.
2. Following color suggestions, paint the design using a lot of paint on your brush. Basecoat and shade as follows using the No. 8 flat brush:
   • Hearts – Fire Red shade bottom Barn Red
   • Leaves and Grass – Light Foliage Green shade bottom Evergreen
   • Sunflowers – Paint petals Butternut shade bottom Orange Soda. Paint center Chestnut. Paint accent dots on petals Tangelo using the handle end of the paintbrush.
3. Basecoat and shade the following using a No. 6 filbert brush keeping bristle end of the brush at the outer point of each flower petal.
   • Blue Flowers – Meridian Blue shade Dark Denim
   • Purple Flower – GP Purple shade African Lily
   • Paint Orange Soda centers on the purple and blue flowers using the No. 1 liner.
4. Paint fence in White using No. 1 liner. Allow to dry.
5. Using the fine point black permanent marker accent all the painted areas with doodles and line work. Let your imagination guide you.
6. Print the inspiration words onto white cardstock using a laser printer. (If using an inkjet printer, after printing, spray seal the printed words with Mod Podge Matte Spray Sealer.) Allow to dry, then cut out the words leaving a ⅛” border.
7. Apply Mod Podge Gloss to the back of each word, then adhere to the black cardstock. Trim around the edges.
8. Mod Podge Gloss each inspiration word to the metal watering car by applying Mod Podge to the back of black cardstock, then attach to the watering can.

Curing Instructions

• Allow the painted surface to air dry for 21 days before use.

Helpful Hints

• Be patient when painting on slick non-porous surfaces - allow ample dry time between paint applications. For best results, allow at least a couple hours (preferably overnight) between coats otherwise the almost dry paint may be lifted.
• Never use a water- wet brush when painting on non-porous surfaces, as it may break down the adhesive properties of the paint. When switching colors, always use a paper towel to pull color from the brush instead of rinsing in water.
• Painted non-porous surfaces should be cured to the surface before washing. After the paint has cured, it is best to hand wash or top shelf only dishwasher safe.
• Also painted non-porous surfaces should never be left to soak in water.
