The things Jennifer Perkins likes more than anything else are: crafts, kitsch and kids.  Her blog is about all of those things. She is a self proclaimed ADD crafter, Jennifer is a Jill of several different crafty trades. She started her creative career as a jewelry designer. Her company Naughty Secretary Club grew into a blog, book and booming brand. Besides jewelry, Jennifer has dabbled in everything from embroidery to scrapbooking. Her current obsession is art journaling and mixed media art.

What is the name of your blog?
Jenniferperkins.com

Why did you choose that name?
After years of having the url naughtysecretaryclub.com I wanted to finally have my own name.  Unfortunately someone else already owned it.  Took some work, but finally I have my name.com

What inspired you start blogging/video?
I originally started blogging in 2005.  I was away in California filming a television show for DIY Network and used my blog as a journal so that my friends and family could keep up with my adventures.  Eventually it turned into strictly DIY content.

How do you describe your style?
I like everything with a wink and a smile - my wardrobe, home decor and DIY projects included.  To me animal print is a neutral and pompoms make everything better.

What has been your biggest blogging/video achievement?
Each time someone tags me with a project they made inspired by one of my tutorials it makes me so happy.  I love seeing how other people interpret my work.

Who has been the biggest influence on your crafting?
My mother was the crafty wind beneath my wings and taught me everything I know.

What is your favorite color?
Don’t make me pick just one.

What is your catchphrase?
Crafts, Kitsch and Kids.

If you could craft with anyone past or present who would you craft with and why?
Enid Collins was a Texas purse designer who is known for her gem stone covered bags.  Each piece had a fun name, a bit of kitsch and just the right amount of tacky.

What is your favorite downtime activity?
Walking my dogs or Netflix.

Quickfire:
  • Beach or mountains? Beach
  • Mod Podge Gloss or Matte? Gloss
  • Movie Theater or Streaming? Theater (on $5 Tuesdays)
  • Cats or Dogs? Dogs
  • Cake or Pie?  Pie
  • Decoupage or Stitching?  Decoupage
  • Pancake or Waffle?  pancakes
