My stamp slides and the image is blurry when I stamp on glossy paper - why?
Check the type of ink you’re using and the pressure on the stamp. Glossy paper has a shiny coating on the surface of the paper. Due to this coating, pigment inks – which are thicker than dye-based inks – will not penetrate the paper and may slide if too much pressure is applied to the stamp. If you use pigment ink with glossy paper, you’ll need to emboss the image to heat set it and make it permanent. If there is no need to emboss your image, try dye-based ink on the glossy paper for a bright, clean impression. Matte paper, by contrast, will easily accept both dye and pigment inks, although pigment inks may take a bit more time to dry.
