Basic Supplies
Here's what you need to get started:
  • Clothing or accessory that you want to craft on
  • Paper or cardboard to slip inside of a shirt or other clothing
  • Iron
  • Pins, if needed to hold pattern or design in place for transfer
Tips & Tricks
  • Slip a thin piece of cardboard in between your shirt, pants or other clothing to keep glue or paint from bleeding through the fabric.

  • When using an iron to adhere an iron-on design or transfer a pattern use the highest heat setting recommended for the fabric you're crafting on.

  • You can heat-set desings painted onto fabric with your dryer, once the paint has completely dried.

  • Test your fabrics! Before transferring a pattern, or painting, test with a small design on identical, scrap fabric to make sure you have the right temperature setting on your iron and that your material is suitable for your craft.
