Chris Thornton-Deeson has always felt her artistic ability was greatly influenced by being raised in Alaska. It was dark when she went to school and dark when she came home. Being one of three children in a very small house, her mother always kept her and her siblings “occupied” at the kitchen table with a variety of art projects—this, her mother claims, saved her sanity.
She also feels that much of her ability is inherited. A display of artwork painted by five generations—with pieces from her grandmother, grandfather, mother, and children—adorns the walls of her living room.
Chris worked for Delta for 15 years as a Royal ambassador. She has written 42 painting books and numerous articles.
