Color Your World this Spring with Rainbow DIYs for the Home

Color Your World this Spring with Rainbow DIYs for the Home

With St. Patty's Day just on the other side of the rainbow, my entire household is in a colorful mood! I don't want it to ever end! What says good luck and springtime like a rainbow? I've put together a collection of the most colorful crafts I could find that will have your home happy-go-lucky all year round!

This Spring, I want to make sure that my house is in full color, floor to ceiling. Jazzing up a regular ol' ceiling fan with paint and patterns (like the Rainbow Ceiling Fan via In My Own Style, above) makes this wish come true. To create a smooth, high-quality finish, Folk Art Home Decor Chalk is your best bet. Also, just think of the magical indoor rainbow it will create once this guy gets to spinning!

This Animal Wall Art via The Shabby Creek Cottage seriously puts the "fun" in funky! With some pop of color, inexpensive plastic toy animals transform into modern installations fit for the most contemporary of exhibitions. Martha Stewart has a great line of versatile finishes - including glitters and metallics - but I think an everyday acrylic would work just as well.

Nothing makes be happier than a colorful kitchen! DIY Painted Wooden Spoons via Little Bit Funky make cooking a little bit craftier and a lot more cheerful! Again, FolkArt Home Decor Chalk works wonders on wood and will have people asking where you bought such adorable utensils! (Our lips are sealed!)

Being a crafter, my garage and storage room are filled with old paint cans like these. Why not upcycle them to make something beautiful to both the eyes and the ears?! Upcycled Tin Can Windchimes via Cheap Crafting will make a wonderful, whimsical addition to your springtime garden or to the trees blossoming around your yard!

What better way to welcome Spring than with a rainbow welcoming mat? A DIY Spring Doormat (like the one via Furnish Burnish) is the perfect way to set the tone for a happy home. You can find wooden doormats like the one above in just about any home goods store. You can choose to paint the planks one bright, bold color, alternate between several, or make it your personal goal to cover the entire color spectrum! As always, Folk Art Home Decor Chalk provides the smoothest finish on wood surfaces and will hold up against everything from rainboots to running shoes.
