Deliciously Easy DIY Ice Cream Projects

Deliciously Easy DIY Ice Cream Projects

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! In honor of National Sugar Week and the oncoming of Spring, we put together a menu of the most delicious DIY treats in town. Perfect for your next ice cream social or just everyday play, you can make as many as you want without feeling guilty or running to the dentist. Plus, they provide hours and hours of fun, so no sticky melty mess! Put away your napkins and whip out the craft supplies... dessert it served!

Painted wooden ice cream bars via That's My Letter have us hungry just looking at them! To make them even more realistic, we recommend using FolkArt® Home Decor Chalk for a smooth chocolatey finish. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, even bright orange creamsicles -- the more colors you play with, the more fun flavors you'll have!

DIY Ice Cream Cone Pinatas via Oh Happy Day are the perfect way for kids to get out all that sugar-induced excitement. Use them for pinata games or just have them hanging from the ceiling as decoration. I love the metallic silver and gold cones, and the pops of colored sprinkles are so clever! I think it would be fun to fill them with coupons for free scoops from your favorite local ice cream parlor. For added strength, we recommend using Delta Sobo Glue.

Ice Cream Cone Balloons via Spearmint Baby are so simple and make such a sweet statement! Pastel balloons give a sherbert effect, but ice cream comes in every color and flavor underneath the cone-melting sun, so grab some craft paper and go wild! For more fun, use stencils to play around with patterns and designs.

Keep your creations from flying off into the clouds with Ice Cream Cone Balloon Weights via Studio DIY. Idea: reuse these at ornaments or hang them from cabinets and doorknobs around the house! Again, FolkArt® Home Decor Chalk creates an amazingly smooth finish, but any wood-friendly paint will do.

And of course, no ice cream social is complete without party hats! DIY Ice Cream Party Hats via Mermaidens are the perfect way to top everything off. Add glitter, sequins, and other tasty touches for a truly one-of-a-kind cone.

Seconds, please :)
