Gourdy Gourd - Pumpkinhead Ornament
By: Linda Silverthorne
Category: General Crafts
Products Used:
FolkArt Paint

Gordy Gourdy is a cute but creepy Halloween guy ready to add a touch of whimsy to your Halloween collection!

He is made of a gourd I grew in my garden last year and then dried all season. I then gutted him and filled him with a few bells to make him jingle. Painted in different shades of orange for dimension, Gordy is antiqued for a vintage look.

His googly eyes are his most distinct feature! The eyes are liquid filled so the eyeballs float at will so give him a sometimes crazed look. Eyelashes of black tinsel trim, a vintage tart tin for a collar and a festive black and orange tassel at the bottom make Gordy Gourdy a fun, unusual Halloween ornament.

Gordy is about 10" long from the tip of his stem hat to the very bottom of the tassel. Circumference of the gourd is about 11" and the height of the gourd by itself is about 3 1/2". He is a good size ornament that would be great on a Halloween tree or maybe hanging from a chandelier.
