I’m the proud mother of three wonderful children and a silly and cute grandson named Sammy. I’ve been a designer and crafter with Plaid for 15 years. My love of crafting took off when I was 14 and won a “Best in Show” ribbon at the Orange County Fair for one of my oil paintings. Since that time, I’ve been crafting up a storm! I love Mod Podge and everything it can do - there is hardly a project out there that doesn’t deserve a little Mod Podge. I hope to pass my knowledge onto you and wish you much success in your decoupaging endeavors.

  1. Double load the medium flat brush with Jamaican Sea and Wicker White. Paint the bottom of the box and flat surface of the lid using criss-crossing strokes, mixing paint colors slightly on the surface. See photo. Let dry.
  2. Paint the edge of the box lid Wicker White.
  3. Trace pattern on stencil blank and use craft knife or stencil cutter to create stencil.
  4. Transfer the small mitten and circle patterns on the bottom of the box randomly. Paint the mittens and snowballs as shown, using Calypso Sky, Bright Baby Pink, and Sawgrass. Paint mitten cuffs Wicker White.
  5. Mix Wicker White with a little water and lightly highlight the colored snowballs.
  6. Transfer the large mitten pattern to the top of the lid as shown. Paint the mittens Calypso Sky with Wicker White cuffs. Let dry.
  7. Paint three light coats of Hologram Extreme Glitter over the flat surface of the lid. Let each coat dry clear before adding another. Let dry completely.
  8. Water down Licorice to an inky consistency. Use the liner brush to loosely outline mittens on the box and lid.
  9. Use the same method to freehand your greeting around the edge of the box lid.
