1. Wipe off clay pot with paper towels.
   
2. Basecoat entire surface with Wicker White. Apply two coats, allowing to dry between coats. Allow to dry.
   
3. Trace pattern from book and transfer to pot. Refer to photo for placement.
   

PAINT THE DESIGN:

1. Practice painting the design on Reusable Teaching Guide and refer to Christmas Tree Worksheet for painting design.
   
2. Paint .light bulbs with # 12 flat using colors indicated on Christmas Tree Worksheet.
   
3. Load #12 flat with licorice to paint tops of lights. Refer to Christmas Tree Worksheet.
   
4. Load #2 script liner with licorice to paint wires.
   
5. Load script liner with Wicker White to add highlights to lights and wires.
   
6. Use script liner to paint letters around rim of pot. Refer to photo for ideas.
   

FINISH:

1. Allow all paint to dry .
   
2. Spray pot with several coats of FolkArt Matte Acrylic Sealer.
