The Christmas Wreath

Six-pane framed window: 32-1/4" x 28-1/4" |

#12 flat shader brush |

¾” glaze brush or flat shader |

Using a photocopier, size all patterns to fit your project surface.
PREPARATION:
- Clean and dry window.
- Paint frame with Buttercrunch. Shade with Asphaltum. Let dry.
- Paint corners of frame with Navy Blue and outline with Real Red.. Let dry. Stencil a star in each corner with Dandelion Yellow. Shade stars with Asphaltum.
- Using ocean sponge, pounce wreath shape loosely on window (continue across pane divisions) with Black. Clean sponge, pick up Real Green and a touch of Mossy Green, and pounce highlights. Let dry.
- Transfer or chalk design on wreath background.
PAINT THE DESIGN
Holly Leaves:
- Double load #12 flat shader and 3/4" glaze brushes with Mossy Green and Real Green. Paint some holly leaves.
- Pick up some Black on brushes for darker holly leaves.
- Pick up some Eggshell on brushes for lighter holly leaves.
Bow:
Multi-load a 3/4" flat brush with Cranberry Red, Real Red, and a touch of Eggshell. Paint in strokework ribbon.
Ball Ornaments:
- Yellow balls: Double load large Spouncer with Dandelion Yellow and Real Red. Pounce/blend on palette, then twist in yellow balls. Pick up a touch of Eggshell to highlight.
- Red balls: Leave previous color in Spouncer. Double load it with Real Red and Cranberry Red and twist in red balls in the same manner. Pick up Eggshell to highlight.
- Blue balls: Double load Spouncer with Pacific Blue and Goodnight Blue. Twist in blue balls. Pick up Eggshell to highlight.
- Paint more holly overlapping some of these balls in the same manner as previous holly. (Refer to photo of project.)
Holly Berries:
- Multi load a small stencil brush with Real Red, a touch of Eggshell, and a touch of Cranberry Red. Pounce/blend on palette, then twist in holly berries.
- Pick up a tad of Dandelion Yellow for some berries to vary the color of berries.
Leaf Detail & Squiggles:
- Using liner brush, detail holly with light green mixes.
- Also paint squiggles with same brush and mixes, but pick up reds to vary the colors of squiggles.
FINISH:
Staple a piece of jute on upper corners of window frame for hanging.
