463 - FolkArt ® Artists Pigments™ - Dioxazine Purple, 2 oz.

794 - FolkArt ® Mediums - Textile Medium, 2 oz.
901 - FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Wicker White, 2 oz.
924 - FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Thicket, 2 oz.


Baby clothes (receiving blanket; burping cloth or cloth diaper; onesie; etc.)


Prepare:


  1. Wash and dry the garments according to manufacturer’s instructions. Do not use fabric softener. Iron garment so it’s smooth.
  2. Trace and transfer the pattern.

Paint the Design

Rosebuds:

  1. Load the #6 flat brush with Rose Shimmer and sideload into Wicker White. Note: For receiving blanket and burping cloth, use #8 flat.
  2. Use Wicker White to outer edge, paint rosebuds.

Bows:

  1. For string bow and ribbon: Load #2 script liner with inky Rose Shimmer. Use a touch of Textile Medium to get a smooth stroke.
  2. For bow on blanket: Load #8 flat with Rose Shimmer and a touch of Wicker White. Use a touch of Textile Medium to get a smooth stroke.

Leaves:

  1. Double load the #6 with Thicket and Wicker White. Paint leaves, occasionally picking up a touch of Sunflower on the Wicker White side. Note: For leaves on onesie, load #2 flat brush with Thicket and sideload a touch of Sunflower.
  2. Load #2 script liner with inky Thicket. Paint stems toward leaves.


Wisteria:

Double load small scruffy with Dioxazine Purple and Wicker White. Pounce Wisteria.


Curlicues:

Load #2 script liner with inky Thicket. Paint curlicues.


Finish:

Let garment dry 24 hours. Place a pressing cloth over painted design. Iron 30 seconds over pressing cloth with iron on highest appropriate setting for fabric.
