Apple
Sharp knife
Paper towel
Foam paintbrush
1 large light colored cloth napkin
Iron
Wax paper
Large eyed needle
Yarn
2 yards of ribbon

1. Slice the apple in half, remove excess moisture by patting the exposed portion on a paper towel.

2. Iron the napkin flat and place a piece of wax paper under the napkin to protect your work surface.

3. Mix 1-part of textile medium with 2-parts paint for each color. You will only need a small amount of paint so you will not need to mix too much.

4. For this step you will be working with the Fresh Foliage, Autumn Leaves, Violet Pansy and Red Velvet paints. Using a foam brush coat the exposed part of the apple one color of the paint. Press the painted apple in the corner of the napkin to stamp.

5. Wash the apple, pat dry and coat with the next color of paint. Stamp the apple onto the napkin. Continue with each color until you have a row of apples.

6. Using the liner brush and the Coffee Bean paint, hand paint a few seeds and a stem on each apple. Allow to dry and heat set with a dry iron.

7. Fold over the top edge of the napkin about 1.5” and press with an iron. Slide the ribbon under the seam and hand sew into place using yarn. Sew through all layers including the ribbon. Gather as you sew.
