1. Cut wood pieces according to patterns. Sand all wood to make it smooth.2. Transfer any parts of the designs that you need such as lettering and faces.
Teacher's Rule Pin
Apple: Basecoat with Burgundy and shade with Burnt Umber.
Leaf: Basecoat with Shamrock and shade with Forest Green. Apply a curved vein line down the middle of leaf with thinned Green Forest, using a liner brush.
Cat:
1. Basecoat head with Light Gray and shade with Medium Gray. Paint eyebrows, nose, mouth and whiskers with thinned Licorice, using liner brush.
2.Basecoat cat paws with Light Gray and shade with Medium Gray.
3. Paint lines for toes with thinned Medium Gray.
4. For cheeks use the pink pastel chalk. Sweep a stiff stencil brush over the chalk. Tap out the excess chalk dust. Pounce your brush on the cheek area. Work your way to the outside edge of the cheeks in every direction to achieve soft outer edges.
5. Glue the 1 1/4 inch square of screen on the back of apple with craft glue.
6. Gently tap nail into the top of the apple for a stem. After it is in place paint it with Burnt Umber.
7. Glue cat head to screen in cutout section of apple.
8. Glue leaf, cat paws and sign onto front of apple according to pattern.
9. Glue pin back of earring post to back of pin. The earring post and back make the pin hang nicely, it works like a tie tack.
10. Spray with sealer
Bunny Pouch Pin
Follow steps 1 and 2 in the above instructions.
Carrot:
1.Basecoat with Light Red Oxide, shade with Burnt Umber and highlight with Terra Cotta.
Bunny:
1. Basecoat with Flesh. Shade with Burnt Umber.
2. Paint eyebrows, whiskers and nose with thinned Licorice using a liner brush.
3. Paint eyebrows, whiskers and nose with thinned Burnt Umber, using a liner brush.
4. Paint cheeks according to # 4 above.
5. Glue a small piece of screen to back of carrot behind cutout area. Glue bunny to the front of screen in the cutout area of the carrot. Glue paws onto carrot at bottom of bunny. Spray with sealer
6. Glue raffia to top of carrot. Tie a small bow out of linen thread and glue it to top of bunny head.
7. Glue pin back of earring post to back of pin. The earring post and back make the pin hang nicely, it works like a tie tack.
