Floral Silhouette Frames

5" x 7" unfinished wood frames: 3 White textured cardstock: 2 sheets Sandpaper White candle |
- Lightly sand all frames then basecoat with Burnt Umber. Allow to dry. Rub the candle on the areas where you would want the Burnt Umber to show thru, for example, edges and sides.
- Apply 2-3 coats of White to achieve full coverage over the Burnt Umber. Allow to dry completely.
- When frames are dry lightly sand the edges and where the candle was applied to achieve a distressed look. Seal with matte sealer.
- Cut cardstock into (3) 5" x 7" pieces.
- Use grout tape to mask and paint Crimson lines vertically on two of the cardstock pieces as shown. (Tip: slightly weaken the adhesive so it won’t tear the paper by lightly sticking it to a piece of fabric first, such as a t-shirt.)
- On 1 piece of cardstock use the end of a small paintbrush to apply a dot pattern in Crimson.
- Stencil the flowers with Caribbean. Stencil all leaves and stems with Leaf Green. Stencil centers and dot below the stem with Crimson.
- Using the end of a paintbrush, apply larger red dots to one of the single flowers, and smaller dots to the other. Paint Crimson stripes on some of the flowers as shown, using grout tape to mask.
