Painting Surface: 5 ½” Tin Tea Box from Painters Paradise; C-10; 950 Ridge Rd.; Claymont; DE 19703-3553; (302) 798-3897 |

Preparation- Apply two coats of Coastal Blue. Allow drying time between coats.
- Load ¾” flat brush with Blending Gel; blot. Load same brush with Lavender; paint stripes on tea box. Dry.
- Load 2/3” flat brush with Metallic Silver Sterling; blot. Highlight stripes with a small amount of silver. Dry.
- Transfer design with white transfer paper. DO NOT transfer facial lines at this time.
Paint the Design Rosebuds:
- Load No.2 flat with Magenta; paint rosebud shape.
- Corner load same brush with Burnt Carmine; shade top center of rosebud. Clean brush; squeeze dry.
- Highlight with Magenta + Warm White.
- Load Liner with Hauser Green Dark, thinned with water. Paint stems and tiny leaves. Highlight with Hauser Green Light.
Snowies:
- Load No.8 flat with Warm White; block in Snowies. Dry.
- Transfer facial lines with light gray transfer paper.
- Load No.8 flat with Warm White + Cobalt + Aqua; shade. Clean brush; squeeze dry.
- Highlight with Warm White.
- Brush-mix Warm White + a little Butler Magenta; pat blush under each eye.
- Paint eyes and mouth lines Pure Black. Highlight eyes with Warm White. Accent shadow side of eyes with Aqua.
- Carrot nose is Pure Orange; shade lower edge with Burnt Carmine. Clean brush; squeeze dry.
- Paint inside open mouth with Coastal Blue. Outline with a very thin line of Pure Black, thinned with water.
- Paint glasses with Pure Gold. Highlight frames and center area with strokes of Warm White.
Aqua Hat and Scarf:
- Aqua; shade with Brilliant Ultramarine.
- Highlight with Aqua + Warm White. Accent shadow side with a touch of Lavender.
- Paint hat band Metallic Silver Sterling.
Blue Hat and Scarf:
- Brilliant Ultramarine + Cobalt. Shade with Burnt Carmine. Clean brush; squeeze dry.
- Highlight with Aqua + a little Warm White. Accent shadow side with a touch of Lavender.
- Paint hat band with Metallic Silver Sterling.
Pink Hat and Scarf:
- Magenta; shade Burnt Carmine.
Clean brush; squeeze dry.
- Highlight Magenta + Warm White. Accent shadow side with a touch of Lavender.
- Paint hat band with Metallic Silver Sterling.
Purple Hat and Scarf:
- Violet Pansy; shade with Burnt Carmine.
- Highlight with a brush-mix of Violet Pansy + Warm White. Accent with a touch of Coastal Blue.
- Paint hat band with Metallic Silver Sterling.
Roses:
- Use No.4 or 6 flat, loaded with Magenta, to paint rose shape.
- Corner load dirty brush with Burnt Carmine; shade center, right side, and lower edge. Clean brush; squeeze dry.
- Add middle values with Magenta + Warm White.
- Highlight with Magenta + more Warm White.
- Dot centers with Hauser Green Light.
- Stroke in leaves with Hauser Green Dark. Highlight with Hauser Green Light + a little Warm White.
Silver Snowflakes:
- Use stylus and Metallic Silver Sterling to dot in snowflakes.
FINISHING
- Allow paint to dry thoroughly.
- Apply two light coats of water-base varnish.
