- Mix mortar or concrete according to package directions (approx. 3 parts dry to 1 part water. Mold holds approx. 48 ounces of prepared mixture). Pour mixture into mold and let set until completely dry, about 24 hours.
- Remove set stone from mold. Arrange nipped stained glass petals on stone surface to form flower and, using tile adhesive, adhere each petal, leaving round space in the middle for flower center.
- With tile nippers, nip ceramic chips and broken dishes into smaller pieces of various shapes and sizes. Arrange nipped pieces around adhered petals in random pattern, spacing no more than ¼” apart.
- Arrange pea gravel in center of flower and outline flower center in nipped pieces of black ceramic tile. At each point in the octagon-shaped stone, add a glass marble. When you are satisfied with the total arrangement, secure each piece with tile adhesive and let dry, approx. 24 hours.
- Wearing rubber gloves, mix grout according to package directions. Spread and smooth a thick layer over tile design, pushing grout into all cracks and crevices, working from center out to edges of stone, similar to frosting a cake. You may find a spatula works better than gloved hands.
- Wipe grouted surface with a damp sponge and let surface dry. When dry, polish tiles and glass with a clean, dry cloth to reveal colorful design.
- Entire surface may be sealed with a grout sealer for extra protection.
