I have always found comfort and happiness when I was busy designing and creating. I have many interests and talents and often I am torn when deciding which art medium to work creatively in. Decorative painting is my first love; however, I also enjoy stenciling, jewelry making, sewing, crochet, needlework of all kinds, cooking, card making, faux finishes, decorating and gardening. Working in the craft and hobby industry for many years, I have enjoyed the pleasures of traveling, teaching, and sharing with others basic crafting how-tos! Currently, I am employed as the Marketing Education Director at Plaid. My career journey to this day, is still allowing me the gift of sharing with others the joys of crafting and finding their creative spirits! I hope that our creative paths may cross one day. Until then... happy creating!
Bold and beautiful and glittery is the best way to go at times. This trio of hanging frames is a project suitable for an office as well as a living room.

Other Supplies
Brush basin or container for water
Foam plate
Paper towels
Fine grit sandpaper
stencil tape
¾” Flat brush
Stencil brush or Dauber

Instructions

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Basecoat one frame Apple Red, one Wicker White and one Licorice.  Allow to dry. Sand smooth using fine grit sandpaper and reapply base color.

  2. If stripes are desired on any of the frames, use stencil tape and paint a contrasting color to create a stripe.  Refer to finished photo for suggestions.

Painting Instructions:
  1. Begin stenciling shapes and patterns on all three frames in a controlled pattern or randomly to your liking.  You may refer to photo for inspiration.

  2. Once stenciled designs are completed. Embellish shapes with FolkArt Extreme Glitter.  Apply Red over the Apple Red, Black over Licorice and Hologram over Wicker White where desired.  Allow to dry.
