I have always found comfort and happiness when I was busy designing and creating. I have many interests and talents and often I am torn when deciding which art medium to work creatively in. Decorative painting is my first love; however, I also enjoy stenciling, jewelry making, sewing, crochet, needlework of all kinds, cooking, card making, faux finishes, decorating and gardening. Working in the craft and hobby industry for many years, I have enjoyed the pleasures of traveling, teaching, and sharing with others basic crafting how-tos! Currently, I am employed as the Marketing Education Director at Plaid. My career journey to this day, is still allowing me the gift of sharing with others the joys of crafting and finding their creative spirits! I hope that our creative paths may cross one day. Until then... happy creating!

  • Plaid ® Wood Surfaces - Star Box
  • FolkArt ® Extreme Glitter™ - Red, 2 oz.
  • FolkArt ® Extreme Glitter™ - Orange, 2 oz.
  • FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Lipstick Red, 2 oz.
  • FolkArt ® Artists Pigments™ - Brilliant Ultramarine, 2 oz.
  • FolkArt ® Acrylic Colors - Wicker White, 2 oz.

Other Supplies
Brush basin or container of water
¾” Flat brush
5/8” Dauber
Foam plate
Paper towels
Fine grit sandpaper

Instructions

Preparation Instructions
  1. Basecoat base of box Brilliant Ultramarine, the box lid Lipstick Red and the side of the box lid Wicker White. Allow to dry.

  2. Sand smooth using fine grit sandpaper and reapply base colors. Allow to dry.
Painting Instructions
  1. Paint several light coats of FolkArt Extreme Glitter – Red over the Lipstick Red box lid allowing each coat to dry before applying the next.

  2. Paint Brilliant Ultramarine vertical stripes around the Wicker White box lid area.

  3. Accent the box base with Wicker White dots using a 5/8” dauber. Allow to dry.
