Julie Lewis
Julie Lewis was destined to be an artist…at least that was what she was told from Kindergarten on. Born outside of Cleveland, Ohio, she was blessed to have been given an incredible art education all through her school years and from her creative and talented parents. Growing up in a world where every day brought some new creative adventure, it was no surprise that she went on to graduate from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a B.F.A. in graphic design. Her professional life included working in many fields from industrial advertising to American Greetings. Most gratifying was working as a designer for the largest craft company, Plaid Enterprises in Georgia where she now resides. She paints and creates felt soft sculptures inspired by said paintings and now sells them through her shop STELLALOLA on Etsy. She is inspired by many things around her…most importantly, a wonderful family, an insanely happy German Shepherd and one stoic Alaskan Malamut.
Preserve your vacation memories whether around the world or around the corner.

  1. Remove all panels from cube. Basecoat lid and base Forest Moss. Base coat body of cube Antique Copper.

  2. Apply Crackle Medium with brush in a slip slap fashion over Antique Copper. Let dry thoroughly.

  3. Step 3 Apply Toasted Vanilla in same manner over the Crackle medium. Cracks will appear as it dries. After totally dry, brush antiquing medium over cracks and rub excess away with soft cloth.

  4. Trace and cut out an approximate 4” circle from background words in flip book. Mod Podge to lid of cube. Use wax paper over images and use squeegee to draw out excess glue.

  5. Apple a light even coat of One Step Crackle to circle in one direction, then smooth over in opposite direction. Cracks will appear as it dries. After about one hour, brush antiquing medium over circle and wipe excess away to bring out the cracks.

  6. Cut out words and images from papers and Mod Podge to lid and to the backs of acrylic shapes. Mod Podge the world map image to one of the removed photo inserts and the woman image over that as shown. Replace insert and place cube on its side so insert is facing up.
