How to Paint the Stencil
TIP: Practice your technique or check your color by first making a sample print on paper or scrap fabric.
- Place stencil on your surface and secure using tape. If using spray adhesive, spray stencil first, then place on surface.
- Pour a small amount of paint onto your palette. Load paint sparingly on a stencil brush or sponge and dab off excess. Lightly dab on a thin layer of paint; apply a second coat if necessary. Paint all areas of one color on the stencil before moving on to the next.
- While paint is still wet, carefully peel off stencil.
- Continue painting areas of the stencil according to your design. Let the paint dry completely before placing another stencil (or color) over it.
"COFFEE BUZZ" Mug
- Use stencil tape and tape off mug 1 inch from top rim, and again 1 inch below the first band of tape.
- Use a large brush and paint the surface of the mug and the handle with Mace. Paint more than one coat if necessary.
- Before the paint dries, carefully release the stencil tape.
- Use a foam pouncer and follow general adhesive stenciling instructions to stencil "coffee time" in Mace, using the image for reference.
"9- 4:59" Mug
- Use stencil tape to tape off mug 3 inches from rim.
- Use a large brush and paint the surface of the mug with Green Curry. Paint more than one coat if necessary.
- Before the paint dries, carefully release stencil tape.
- Use a foam pouncer and follow general adhesive stenciling instructions to stencil "9 to 4:59" on the mug, using the image for reference.
