Bucilla counted cross stitch kits are designed to be stitched with 2 strands of floss, and each kit contains 20% more floss than is required to complete the kit as instructed.
Here are some tips to make your floss go further:
- Always fluff your floss before beginning. Separate all 6 strands and then put them back together. This extends the surface area of your floss and results in better coverage.
- Make sure you’re using the number of strands specified in the Color/Symbol Chart in the instructions. If you prefer to use more strands you will need to purchase extra floss.
We do offer a DMC conversion chart of Bucilla floss color #’s compared to DMC floss colors. This will give you a quick and easy way to obtain more thread for your kit. Just locate the Bucilla floss number on your instruction sheet and find its conversion on the attached table.
The DMC color number shown is the closest color currently available at the time we created this table. If we could not find a close conversion, the DMC color space will be blank. Please be aware that there could be variations in shade between dye lots.
