Achieve a distressed look by painting one or more colors of paint in separate layers and then remove the top layer in time-worn areas such as chair rungs and arms, furniture edges and around knobs or drawer pulls to expose the color beneath. This distressed look evokes a warm charming, vintage, and time-worn look which is a very desirable DIY trend.
