Kid-Friendly Ways to Kick Off 2015

Kid-Friendly Ways to Kick Off 2015

Each New Years Eve my kids are bound and determined to stay up until midnight. The few who succeed love to claim bragging rights, while the ones who don't are admittedly more rested the next day. Whichever camp the kids fall into, I make sure everyone gets the full New Years experience. We've started tuning in to celebrations across the world, so that even our earliest birds get the excitement of counting down. Filled with fun party crafts, the entire day turns into a family-friendly extravaganza we all remember for the next 365 days and beyond. Check out these imaginative ideas to ring in your 2015!

Confetti Balloons via Brit + Co are simple to make and are the perfect way to set the party scene. Fill them with confetti, sequins, glitter, anything that sparkles and shines.

A New Years without festive headwear is no New Years of mine! Chalkboard Party Hats via Tatertots & Jello allow kids to personalize their noggin-toppers with special messages, crazy designs, nicknames or even fun New Years resolutions.

Shimmer and shake your way into the New Year with Glittery Noise Makers via The DIY Mommy. Made with items from the pantry, they're a fun, easy way to add music to your merrymaking.

Recreating Times Square in your living room seems like a bit of a stretch. However, these Confetti Poppers via Alpha Mom come pretty close to doing the trick. When the clock strikes 12, pull the string and watch as a sea of confetti rains down on your little ones heads.

Finally, after all the hooping and hollering has quieted down, pass out Patterned Paper Fortune Cookies via Unsophisticook. Fill them with fun memories of the past year or exciting predictions as to what the next will bring. Kids will love being tucked in with warm New Years wishes :)

5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Happy New Year and happy crafting!
