Gallery Glass Horizontal Application - Step 2

Glass Painting

NOTE: Liquid Leading should be used for modular design elements. Redi-Lead should only be used when applying directly to the project surface. It will not peel up once it is applied to the Leading Blank.

  1. Remove the cap and seal from the Liquid Leading bottle. Using the metalpick, make a hole in the tip. Be sure the hole is large enough; small holes will note allow the leading the flow freely. Replace the cap. Hold the bottle upside down and tap firmly on a hard surface to force the leading into the tip. Remove cap.

  2. Hold the inverted bottle like a broom handle. Don't rest your elbow on your work surface - it will inhibit your movement. Squeeze lines of leading (1/8" to 3/16" in diameter) on the Leading Blank, following the leading lines of the suncatcher or design pattern. When you get near the end of your pattern line, stop squeezing and lower the bottle tip to the plastic surface to prevent blobs of leading. Let leading dry 8 hours before painting.

  3. After the leading is dry, pull up any unwanted leading and snip off or trim with small scissors.
