When a new year arrives, what do you do with your old calendars? More specifically, what do you do with your old Bucilla ® Felt Jeweled Calendars? More than likely, the calendars just get stored away. But this article is here to help give you ideas on how to re-use those beautiful calendars you spent so much time on to decorate your home with classic Bucilla designs for many years to come. Below are some ideas on how to take the Bucilla Calendars we have on close-out, and turn them into something new!
Magnets: All you need is a pair of sharp scissors, magnet sheets and some Bucilla Felt Glue to quickly cut out pieces of the calendar you like and glue to a magnet--simple as that! Kids will have a lot of fun creating magnets, so be sure to let them in on the fun. The calendar pictured left (Flowers of the Month) would be an easy calendar to make into magnets by simply cutting out each flower square and turning those pieces into magnets. |
Wall Hanging: The Aloha Calendar (pictured left) would make a fun wall hanging to brighten up any room! Simply cut away the calendar to create your wall hanging. |
Picture frame: Take last year's Shopping Spree calendar and make it into a hanging picture frame! All you have to do is cut away each individual month (be sure to keep the felt in between each space)
and place your photo inside each square--you can insert a total of 13 photos!
|
Decorative Pillow: Take an old favorite design (Give Us This Day, pictured left, would work well), cut off the calendar portion, trim coordinating fabric to the same size, sew the two pieces together, insert a pillow form or polyfil and there you go--a new pillow! |
Those are just a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing. So dust off that old calendar, or purchase one on close-out, and get creative!
And just so you know, the 2010 Bucilla Felt Jeweled Calendars are here, so be sure to check out the classic and new designs available!
