Your Doodle-Loom Set comes with large, medium and small tools. In the following example, we use the medium tool.

PLACING THE YARN
Start by placing your yarn onto the Doodle-Loom tool. Holding the tool in your left hand, place the yarn in the notch on the right, leaving approximately a one-inch tail. Bring the yarn around the back and through the lower arch…across the front left side of the tool…and into the notch on the left at the handle.

WRAPPING THE YARN
Now, starting at the center, start winding the yarn up and over the upper arch of the tool, wrapping from the center to the right, then back across to the left, until you have evenly and thickly covered the entire width and length of the tool.

The amount of yarn you use will determine how full your pompon will be when it's finished. The size of your pompon is determined by the size of the Doodle-Loom you choose to use. The small tool will make approximately a 1 ½" pompon. The medium tool makes a 3" pom-pon and the large tool will make a 4" pompon.

CUTTING THE YARN

Using your scissors, first cut the yarn from the skein and then cut the back of the yarn behind the handle…take both ends, pull the yarn tight, and tie a half-knot and hold firmly.

Place your scissors at the end of the channel near the notch on the right side and cut along the top, using the channel as your guide.

Holding the pompon with your thumb and finger, remove the tool, tighten the half-knot, and then tie a full knot to secure the pom pon.

And you've made a full and even pompon!

You don't even have to trim it. It's perfect every time!

You can tie them together or sew them into place with a few quick stitches using a complementary shade of thread or embroidery floss.
