A Paint of a Different Color
Dede Bland and Jean Chancellor
Decorative Painting
Have you ever wondered how we come up with all the different
colors of FolkArt? Many are traditional artist colors, others
have been developed in the lab, and others have been requested
by our artists.
In talking with our designers, our Paint team discovered
that they were mixing the same paints over and over again
to achieve many of their favorite colors. We took this information
and developed our 6 newest Artists' Pigments:
Color:
Van Dyke Brown
Artist: Aurelia Conway
Aureila uses this color to strengthen the shadow areas of
her beautiful painted gourdes.
Color:
Fawn
Artist: Peggy Harris
Peggy Harris is known for her adorable baby animals. And
now she has Fawn for painting their fur.
Color:
Permanent Rose
Artist: Louise Jackson
This is the first of two new colors created by Louise. She
uses Permanent Rose to enhance floral scenes in her beautiful
watercolors.
Color:
Pthalo Green
Artist: Louise Jackson
This green is perfect for flower stems, leaves and greenery
in Louise's watercolors.
Color:
Yellow Citron
Artist: Priscilla Hauser
This is one of Priscilla's favorite colors for highlighting
leaves. She calls it "Sock-It-to-Me-Green"!
Color:
Midnight Violet
Artist: Gigi Smith-Burns
Gigi Smith-Burns paints enchanting flowers. This deep Midnight
Violet will surely complement her flowers beautifully!
