Everything You Want to Know About Paint - Part II - Surfaces

Lauren Schiller
Craft Painting

After reading Part 1 of this series, you should be an expert in knowing what kind of paint works best on your favorite surfaces. Now that you know what paint to use, it's time to learn how to prepare your surfaces before you begin painting. Some surfaces, such as paper mache, need no preparation, while others, such as old furniture, need some tender loving care before you begin your project.

Below are eight different surfaces. To learn how to prepare these surfaces, just click on the name of the surface, and you'll be taken to the FAQ about that surface. (Since paper mache needs no preparation, the name is not clickable.) If you'd like to know how to make the project in the picture, just click on the picture and you'll go straight to the instructions for that project!
