Three Easy Stitches
Bucilla Needle Crafts
Untitled Document
Most Bucilla Baby Projects use these three simple stitches. However sometimes more stitches may be used. Refer to each kit for a list of stitches and illustrated diagrams. Here are the stitches:
Cross Stitch
Tried and true this simple stitch has endless possibilities to create patterns or to accent a design.
It's as simple as making an X. One thread simply crosses over the other. Come up at A and go
down at B. Then come up at C and go back down at D. Forming the cross or X. That's it your
done! Told you it was easy.

Satin Stitch
The idea here is to cover an area large or small with a series of stitches giving a design a filled
in satin smooth surface. It consists of a series of simple straight stitches all done next to each
other. Bring your needle up at A and go down at B, keeping the floss flat and untwisted, and
smooth. Then come up again at C and go down again right next to A starting your next stitch.
Continue until you cover the desired area adjusting the length of your stitches to accommodate
the design.

Back Stitch
As the name says you are working backward with this stitch. Starting at A you come up through
the fabric, go down at point B then skip ahead just a bit to come up at C to the left of A. Continue
the stitch by repeating steps B and C sticking your needle in the same hole. This stitch is great
for tracing the outline of a design.
